Do you feel safe when you’re using the internet? Have you or anyone you know been hacked? Are you concerned that you’re leaving an obvious trail of your information for others to hack? A lot of people often think that hacking is only done to companies or the government, but it also happens to ordinary people. You’ll be surprised at how frequently people can easily get a hold of your internet history.

Privacy can be such a tricky matter, especially in today’s society. With the help from the Montclair Public Library’s staff, they’ll be able to better assist you by building upon your privacy protection skills. The instructional workshop will take place on April 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the main library.

It is essentially important to at least familiarize oneself with the numerous methods of attack that hackers use as well as the recovery options. Although it is possible to recover one’s valuable information after being hacked, it can sometimes be too traumatic for people, leaving individuals fearful of ever touching technology. It can be an ongoing nightmare for some because as technology advances, the risk of hacking increases as well.  With today’s busy lifestyles, for most it can be a challenge to keep up to date about the do’s and don’ts for the betterment of your privacy.

“Digital privacy is an issue often discussed in the news and on the forefront of people’s minds. This class will provide an overview of the topic and go over simple steps one can take to protect your privacy online,” said John Daquino, Information Specialist at Montclair Public Library.
