Break out of Last Minute Escape.
Last Minute Escape, formerly known as Exit Strategy, is a real-time immersive experience in which you have to uncover a mystery, located at 45 Park St. Last Minute Escape is a real-life mystery for a group of two to eight people played out in richly detailed settings. The main objective is for you and your team to enter the game, complete the mystery and escape, all in just one hour.
Although Last Minute Escape has locations all over New Jersey, Montclair’s location is called The Senator’s Manor. Without getting into too much detail, the mystery involved is that the United States Senator, Franklin Wilson Neuhaus II has been missing for several months and you and your team have to find him.
The difficulty of The Senator’s Manor escape room is a three stars on a five star scale and has an escape rate of 42.3 percent. In the escape room, you will have one hour to solve the mystery and once the hour has expired and you have not finished the scenario, the door will open and you will exit the room.
The way that the teams and pricing works is that the weekend tickets are sold individually and each session can have up to eight players. Monday through Thursday, the price is $100 for the first four people and $20.50 per person afterward. Friday through Sunday, the price is $30.50 per person.
Anyone under the age of 16 will have to be accompanied by an adult at the site, even if the adult does not participate. Last Minute Escape recommends that you be at least 13 years of age to participate.
“I’ve participated in escape rooms a few times but have never tried Last Minute Escape in Montclair,” said Montclair State University student Julia Aimes. “They are so fun but you have to make sure you go with the right people because they aren’t always that easy to complete. I will definitely have to go to Last Minute Escape and try to uncover The Senator’s Manor!”
Last Minute Escape is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Other than their location in Montclair, Last Minute Escape also has locations in Morristown, Wayne and a location in Toms River opening soon.
