The Wellmont Theater in Montclair is glad to present four amazing rock'n'roll artists from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s to gather all on the same stage.

Join the electrifying rock’n’roll night of Legends of Rock on Sat. Aug. 6 at 8 P.M. The spectacular line up will surely make you want to bring a few friends and enjoy the performance. The overall tour will feature Jefferson Starship, Mark Farner, Formerly Of Grand Funk Railroad, Rick Derringer and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. As their legacies range from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, one can only expect an unforgettable rock show that will definitely be a crowd-pleaser.

Jefferson Starship features David Freiberg, longtime members Donny Baldwin on drums, and Chris Smith on keyboards and synth bass, Jude Gold on lead guitar, and Grammy nominee Cathy Richardson as the female lead vocal. Together, Jefferson Starship, released 8 gold and platinum selling albums, twenty hit singles, sold out concerts worldwide and lived out legendary rock and roll escapades between 1974 and 1984.

Mark Farner a.k.a. Grand Funk Railroad co-founded the band in 1969. As they took their American band to success, they made well-known hits such as “We’re An American Band,” “Walk Like A Man,” “The Loco-Motion,” “Shinin’ On,” “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “Bad Time.” Thus, making a mark in rock history.

Rick Derringer is known for his legendary rock anthem, “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,” so expect tons of air guitars in the audience. He continues to be popular icon and has been featured in several movies over the years including the Richard Linklater cult classic, Dazed and Confused.

Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels‘ first single, “Jenny Take a Ride!” paved their way to fame. In 1966, they recorded and began to perform a medley featuring Little Richard’s “Jenny Jenny” and Chuck Willis’ classic R&B song, “C.C. Rider.” From there, they were included in the Top Ten charts.

The Wellmont Theater is located on 5 Seymour St. in Montclair, N.J. and can be best contacted 973-783-9500. Regular box office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets for Legends of Rock can be purchased through Live Nation starting at $20.
