Arts and Crafts Fair 2016 is all about family fun!
Attend the very first North Fullerton Ave. Arts & Crafts Fair, courtesy of the First United Methodist Church of Montclair. The church is located on 24 North Fullerton Ave. in Montclair and will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will be hosting over 25 art, artisans and crafters, as well as local business and food vendors. Attendees can expect live performances from Rockstar Racecar, Lily Vakili and the LV band, Blastaways and Mikette (Newark’s Female MJ Tribute Artist). Throughout the day, children will be able to enjoy free activities such as Painting with Scissors by Marilou Rivera. This specific activity is where children can learn the art of creating stain glass with paper. Other activities include finger painting, painting with straws, painting with q–tips and Kids Origami with Maria Abada from Origami Wellness.
“We wanted to try something new. We had several new members of our church [who] were very connected to the art community, and we wanted to do an activity that fit the interest of the Montclair area. We chose to bring together artists, artisans [and] crafters for an outdoor Arts and Crafts Fair,” said Leslie Lester, Psy.D./Event Coordinator and Church Member of the First United Methodist Church of Montclair.
A few months ago, a team of about six to eight members of the church took the time to brainstorm the details and objective for the actual event. Regular meetings were scheduled to ensure that the church had enough vendors involved and all community business, musicians and artists/crafters were aware of this amazing event.
