Frost Valley YMCA will host its Alumni weekend on April 21 to bring families together.
Frost Valley YMCA opens up its grounds to former Y-Guides, Adventure Guides and Indian Princesses for an Alumni Weekend retreat April 21 to 23. This reunion will bring family and friends together to experience the thrill of the outdoors. Families are welcome, and exploring is encouraged at Frost Valley! Frost Valley offers year-round social and recreational programs to connect families with nature and each other.
The Frost Valley Adventure Guides program focuses on bridging the generational gap between parents and children by offering engaging activities for all ages to participate in. This weekend will thank all Adventure Guides by giving them an adventurous and restorative time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Adventure Guides program encourages everyone to get off their screens and get into nature. The experiences here will create lasting memories that bond families together.
Jay Pumphrey, Guest Relationship Development Manager, has attended Adventure Guide Weekend with his two children. He has attended Frost Valley for 31 years. Now, he lives and works there. “The weekends spent with my two daughters here were some of the most important and valuable times in our lives,” said Pumphrey. Pumphrey, the “Cat Came Back Guy,” will host the Adventure Guide weekend.
Alumni Weekend will feature the traditional camp favorites, like hiking, climbing, canoeing and sports games. Programs will also include arts and crafts, stargazing and stories by the campfire. So no matter your family’s interests, Frost Valley YMCA will have a special experience for you to share.
The Frost Valley experience will be open to the whole family, and kids under five years old are free. The price per person is $149 and includes two nights lodging, five meals and all activities for the weekend. Special rates are available for all Adventure Guides as Frost Valley wants every family to be able to return to the safe and fun place they love. Many activities will even be aimed at older kids and adults.
“The experience at Frost Valley with the Adventure Guide has been one of the most rewarding and best bonding experience I have had with my daughter,” said Dave Oscar, a former participant.
