Douglas Dunn continues his legacy.
Douglas Dunn’s newest dance/theater piece, “Aubade,” is one that is sure to take the audience on a journey through the basic human experiences that we all share and confronting the concept of mortality. “Aubade” is a production by Dunn and is commissioned by Peak Performances of Montclair State University, with artistic direction and choreography by Dunn, lighting, costumes and video by Charles Atlas, music and musical direction by Steven Taylor and text by Anne Waldman.
Performance are set for Friday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 and Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Alexander Kasser Theater.
Douglas Dunn’s tickets are available online at the Peak Performances site, peakperfs.org, or at the Alexander Kasser Theater box office on the Montclair State campus for $20. The box office operates from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to curtain on days of the performance. As always, for MSU undergraduate students, one ticket is available upon request. Please remember that a valid student ID must be presented at the box office when picking up the tickets.
Parking is located in the Red Hawk Parking Deck at an hourly rate which can be paid by cash or card. Metered parking is also available in lot 27 at .75 cents per half hour at a maximum of three hours. The meters are cash only.
For those looking to dine before or after the show, the Red Hawk Diner serves classic diner dishes and is open for 24 hours. For those looking for something quicker, then Café Diem is your best bet with Starbucks coffee, wraps, sandwiches and more.
Douglas Dunn’s “Aubade” is set to become counted among as one of his best pieces.
