YMCA of Montclair’s event set to inspire.
The YMCA of Montclair will open their doors this Saturday, March 22 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to share the gifts of 50 athletes from Livingston, Caldwell and Wayne, as they compete in the Essex County Special Olympics Swim Meet.
This day is not only a competition, but also a celebration of talent and skills that have been gifted to these athletes. The sound of the ready will mark the first time Essex County to host the Special Olympics New Jersey Swim Meet. Look forward to 14 races including 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 100 individual medley.
The Montclair community has embraced the privilege as the home to the event, funded by a $1,000 donation by Studio042 and from Haven Savings Bank. Serving as volunteers of the event, the Montclair Dolphins swim team and parents come together to create a YMCA team of over 20.
Don’t miss an opportunity to be a spectator of a spectacle in the Montclair community. You don’t have to volunteer your time or cast a donation, but rather live in the moment of another’s time to shine as they share their athletic ability.
