PJs Promotions works with Paramus High School
Typically on a Sunday, schools are quiet and deserted. However, this certainly was not the case for Paramus High School on Sunday, March 8. PJs Promotions Quality Craft Show set up shop throughout the hallways, inside the cafeteria and across the gymnasium of Paramus High School for their annual spring show. I am a lover of all things crafty and unique, so I when I saw that over 100 vendors were expected at this show, my Sunday plans were set.
The show started at 10 a.m. and I arrived, accompanied by my mom and my son, shortly after the doors opened. Our eyes filled with excitement the second we entered; I could not wait to start shopping. Rows and rows of exhibitors sold handmade pottery, quilts, coin art, personalized ornaments, jewelry, clothes, paintings and so much more. I was personally drawn to a table with beautiful pepper grinders, cutting boards, wine stoppers, bowls and pens – all made of oak and maple.
The booth belonged to Tyler, the creator of Tyler’s Turnings. After I purchased an oak pepper grinder, we began to chat. He was a student at Paramus High School and took wood shop and wood turning classes and fell in love with the trade. After graduating, he set up shop in his garage and sold his work to family and friends. By word of mouth, Tyler’s wood turning grew more and more popular, and so he created Tyler’s Turnings. He is a newbie in the world of craft shows, but has big plans to attend as many as possible. More about Tyler and his amazing work is displayed and available for purchase at www.tylersturnings.com.
