Frost Valley YMCA hosts Adventure Guides as families are the primary focus!
Step away from all the technology devices and spend quality time with family at Frost Valley YMCA. They will be hosting the YMCA Adventure Guides this year in November! Thousands of families each year, absolutely cherish the two-night retreat destination as it strengthens family relationships. Participants in the YMCA Adventure Guides program would know this firsthand. This year, former participants have an opportunity to re-experience many of the cherished memories they’ve shared through the program over the years.
YMCA Adventure Guides is a parent-child program. It specifically aims to enhance the bond and camaraderie between parent and child. Families can spend time together in nature and immerse themselves in the rich, engaging programs offered at Frost Valley within shared activities and events.
This year, Frost Valley YMCA will be having a YMCA Adventure Guide Alumni weekend especially designed for parents and children who have aged out of the program, but still want to return to the place that holds so many treasured memories.
Frost Valley’s 5,500+ acres in the Catskill Mountains allows former participants the chance to enjoy Frost Valley’s traditional, outdoor and indoor programming, such as: hiking, climbing, archery, sports and games, arts and crafts, stargazing, telling stories by the campfire and much more.
“After 31 years of coming to Frost Valley, first as an Adventure Guide Dad and then as a volunteer for the Montclair YMCA, I now live and work at Frost Valley,” says staff member Jay Pumphrey. “I believe that Frost Valley is a magical place. The weekends spent with my two daughters here were some of the most important and valuable times in our lives.”
If you are a former YMCA Adventure Guide participant and would like to register for this weekend, please call Frost Valley YMCA at (845) 985-2291 x450 or email reservations@frostvalley.org
