Beauty trends for spring and summer.
Need some springtime inspiration for your beauty routine? These events have given insight as to what trends are happening now in world of beauty. From the runways of February’s New York Fashion Week (NYFW), to last weekend’s happenings on the west coast desert— round one of Coachella— there is enough inspiration to get out of that post-winter rut and ready for the warmer months to come! Here are five beauty trends to try this spring and summer:
Red Lips: Classic red lips have always been a beloved beauty staple for adding extra glam— however, designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Zac Posen and Ann Taylor featured all different kinds of reds from orange to berry hues to create a cool and modern look. Bright red lips may have been daring for some before, but this wave of red toned lips makes it possible for you to find the right shade for your skin.
To find the perfect shade of red for your skin tone, try visiting the Bobbi Brown Studio located on 10 Lackawanna Plz. in Montclair.
Bold Eyes: Have fun with color and thick lines—from classic black winged liner, to electric blue lids, purple eye-shadow to even neon red liner made an appearance both on the runways and in the desert this weekend. Be fearless and try any color you’d like, really!

Rainbow Hair: Kylie Jenner and Jordan Dunn, along with other various festival goers were rocking rainbow hair this past weekend. Neon, jewel toned and the ever popular pastel hair trend is here to stay. For a fast, and less damaging alternative to dying your hair (TIP: If you are willing to make the commitment to dying your hair, please consult a professional), use hair chalks that wash out.
Fresh and Natural Faces: If you are not one to wear bright colors, it’s all good! Although bold eyes are fun to try, if you are not comfortable with the previous trend, this look is great for when you’re caught in the heat of Spring and Summer. A go-to look for festival goers and on the runways. To achieve this look, start with light coverage for dewey skin, add pink blush and an illuminator to give your skin a glowing effect and top it off with warm, natural, brown lids.
Braids and Ponytails: To compliment any of these trends, try finishing off your look with beachy loose braids, or a slicked back low ponytail. Your hair will not only look on-trend, but you’ll stay cool in the warm weather ahead!
