Daniela Castro has been working with the Montclair Art Museum for years now, four years to be exact. She has always had a love for photography and drawings, in fact, she has had some of her art shown throughout the museum and the Montclair Public Library. When the opportunity came for Montclair High School students to pick a site where they could complete their senior option internship, Daniela had already known where she would like to work at.

Frances Smith, who is the Assistant Director of the Montclair Art Museum says she has had the pleasure of working with Daniela for quite some time now. Ms. Smith also stated that since she continued her work towards the Montclair Art Museum shows how passionate and how much she takes working here to seriously. Daniela stated, “when I come here for work, I suddenly forget about all the stress and chaos that is in my life, through art, I am able to express myself in a way that can only be told through the use of art”.

While working on her internship at the Montclair Art Museum, Daniela does many things to keep herself occupied throughout her day. Daniela gets to lead tours throughout the museum as well as create artwork for the museum. In addition, Daniela gets to go outside and explore Montclair, capturing breathtaking pictures around her community.

Daniela said that working for the Montclair Art Museum has been such a privilege and it has made her look and see the world in a different manner. She hopes that if there are any kids who are interested in taking pictures and drawings that they check out the Montclair Art Museum.
