With the official summer season just around the corner, residents around the Glen Ridge area will soon have access to the Pool House complex for the Glen Ridge Community Pool! Wright & Robinson Architects have recently announced that their Pool House complex for the Glen Ridge Community Pool will be opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m.

In 2005, the Borough of Glen Ridge commissioned Wright & Robinson Architects to design a master plan for the Community Pool. The firm brought extensive experience with design for sensitive historic districts and with club architecture to the project.

According to Mark Wright, AIA, of Wright & Robinson Architects, “Phase One was the construction of a raised deck and a large fabric canopy. Trailer structures that the Borough already owned were positioned around the raised deck to provide toilet rooms and an office, and the Borough was able to wring ten more years of life out of them. Phase Two — construction of the permanent buildings to replace the trailers — began last fall. The contractor’s team worked diligently through an exceptionally harsh winter, and the club opened on schedule. M.B.T. Contracting LLC (Lincoln Park NJ) did a wonderful job fulfilling our vision for the Glen Ridge Community Pool.”

The Glen Ridge Pool is located at 35 Clark Street in Glen Ridge, N.J., and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day each season. Some extra features of the pool include: designated pool areas for laps and young children, a separate toddler pool, a water slide, group/private swim lessons and a patio area for picnics and parties.
