Asana House has great food such as the Kirtan Slurp and music.
If you’re looking for some great food and music, come out to Asana House Juice Bar Cafe this Thursday, Oct. 23 for Kirtan Slurp! Asana House is located at 127 Valley Road in Montclair, N.J.
According to a statement by Asana House, Kirtan Slurp will feature Anastasia Gheyssen singing some Kirtan Chants “while you slurp your delicious ramen or pho.” Kirtan is call-and-response chanting performed in India’s bhakti devotional traditions, which involves chanting hymns or mantras with the help of instruments such as the harmonium, tablas or hand cymbals.
Asana House asks residents of Montclair to come out and support Gheyssen. According to Asana House, “she is traveler who started her journey in Saskatchewan, Canada where she pursued classical voice training for many years. While doing meditation and yoga teaching in Thailand, she became interested in Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion.” Additionally, for the past two years she has been offering Kirtans in both New Jersey and Saskatchewan.
Kirtan Slurp requires no payment at the door; however, a $5 minimum donation is suggested. Additionally, space is limited so those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to RSVP to 973-744-1500.
