Chef James De Sisto is the master behind the delicious meals created and served at Laboratorio Kitchen, where the food has a balance of the natural flavor and is healthier too.
Opened in September of 2014, De Sisto’s culinary background has proven him to well capable of owning and running a highly successful restaurant in the Montclair community. Serving upmarket American cuisine, Laboratorio Kitchen sources their ingredients locally, using only grass fed meat as well as the freshest seafood in the market.
If you’re hungry and interested in eating at Laboratorio Kitchen, there are many options on the menu including appetizers, salads and entrees. For appetizers, you can choose from veal and beef meatball which includes mushroom sauce, pecorino cheese and basil oil ($13), mussels which are served in butter broth, fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes ($13), house made ravioli with ricotta, pecorino, local ramp pesto and lump crab ($12) and more.
If you’re craving a salad or looking for a low calorie alternative, your options include baby spinach salad which has green apple, goat cheese, citrus vinaigrette and toasted almonds ($11), beefsteak tomato salad which has arugula, gorgonzola, red wine vinaigrette and prosciutto ($12), house made burrata cheese puttanesca salad which has capers, olives, tomatoes, micro greens dressed with an aged balsamic ($12) and more.
As for entrees, you have many options ranging from steak to chicken to fish. On their menu, you can choose from some of the following, including atlantic salmon which has charred watermelon, arugula salad and dressed with a vanilla bean vinaigrette ($26), a 12-ounce aged ribeye which includes steak frites, chipotle aioli and a herb salad ($29), Chilean sea bass which has cauliflower puree, sautéed spinach and scallion oil ($30), local mushroom risotto which has chorizo, crispy spinach and lump crab meat ($23), organic chicken which includes pureed potato, baby carrots, lemon-butter topped off with some fresh herbs ($19) and more.

Chef James De Sisto graduated from the Culinary School of Johnson and Wales in Miami Florida and began working under world renowned chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, Tyler Florence and Mitchell Althlz and has worked at prestigious restaurants such as Uva 69, Emerils of South Beach and The Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange.
