Join the Let’s Table This: Jersey Style event featuring food author panelists.
On Sat. Jun. 18 at 2 P.M., the Montclair Public Library and Watchung Booksellers will be hosting an event called Let’s Table This: Jersey Style. This event will be featuring a panel of food authors to celebrate the Montclair Food & Wine Festival. While bringing together Jersey writers on this delightful afternoon, expect them to also share stories of local restaurant scenes and food writing.
The panel will be moderated by David Galef, a creative writing program director at Montclair State University. As an author of over a dozen books, such as Flesh and My Date with Neanderthal Woman, his work also appeared in the The New York Times, The Village Voice, Cosmopolitan, Self, The Yale Review, and many more.
Panelists include the following authors John Holl, Deborah Smith, Allison Fishman Task, and Rachel Weston. John Holl is an award-winning editor of All About Beer Magazine and the author of Dishing Up New Jersey and the American Craft Beer Cookbook. Deborah Smith is the founder of JerseyBites.com, which is an online magazine with a Garden State doodie focus. Allison Fishman Task is a Certified personal career and life coach, aiming to ameliorate lives. Rachel Weston is an award-winning journalist with over twenty years of experience as a writer, editor, and multimedia content producer.
“Montclair is a foodie town and a writing town. Why not have an event that combines the two?” said Chelsea Dodd, Information Services Supervisor. “We hope this program generates excitement for the Montclair Food & Wine Festival’s BBQ Bourbon Biergarten this July.” said Chelsea Dodd, Information Services Supervisor at Montclair Public Library.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is recommended. Books will be available for purchase at the event. The library is handicapped accessible and can provide assistive listening devices upon request.
