Lupe Fiasco and Billy Blue want to show Montclair love!
Lupe Fiasco returns to Wellmont Theater in Montclair! As you may or may not know, Lupe Fiasco is an American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur. His fame rose in 2006 when his debut album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, provided three Grammy nominations. He performs as the frontman of rock band, Japanese Cartoon, under his real name, Wasalu Muhammad Jaco. As an entrepreneur, Fiasco is the chief executive officer of 1st & 15th Entertainment. You might recognize him for his lead single, “Superstar,” which became his first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Not only is Fiasco known for his musical talents, but he advocates within charitable activities, such as Summit on the Summit expedition and a benefit for victims of 2010 Haiti earthquake.
The Wellmont Theater will be hosting the performance on Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Purchase tickets for Lupe Fiasco, The Boy Illinois, and Billy Blue starting at $10! It is a seated event so mark your calendars in advance for this one night of great music.
“He is a phenomenal lyricist,” said Makeda Marshall, Lupe Fiasco fanatic.
If you’re looking for warm beverages and a place to get cozy before or after the performance, make your way to Trend Coffee and Tea House. I recommend purchasing a large cappuccino or caramel latte. The price for medium and large are the same, the only difference is the amount of milk they pour. If you’re in the mood to eat with your hands, take a walk up the block to Mancinni’s Coal Oven Pizza and savor large pie with prosciutto and arugula, my favorite!
