The Musical Box is a French Canadian Genesis tribute band that formed in order to commemorate the band’s albums Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, Lamb and A Trick of the Tail. The band came together in 1993 with a vision of recreating the original Genesis shows that were popular in the 1970’s by incorporating visual effects, costumes and identical setlists to create the same atmosphere for their fans during their performances.

The band is currently made up of five members, each who represent a member of their tribute band. Denis Gagné stands as “Peter Gabriel,” François Gagnon as acoustic guitarist “Steve Hackett,” Sébastien Lamothe as string guitarist and vocalist “Mike Rutherford,” Guillaume Rivard on the keyboard as “Tony Banks” and Marc Laflamme as drummer and percussionist “Phil Collins.”

The Musical Box Tour is coming to Montclair with yet another abstract performance, only this time it’s exclusive to American audiences, with the “Black Show.” This show will feature a pitch black stage brightened by two giant circular shaped screens for a more peculiar stage presence than usual. The band will take the audience on a journey of a more live rendition of the songs than ever before.

The concert will take place on Thursday, Mar. 3 at The Wellmont Theater, located at 5 Seymour Street in Montclair. The show is at at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at thewellmonttheater.com. Prices range from $19.99 to $49.50 based on seating location. All tickets subject to all applicable facility fees and service charges. No refunds, exchanges, cancellations.
