The timeless Olivia Newton-John will sing to Montclair!
Olivia Newton-John continues to be a vibrant and creative individual after more than five decades of her career. The England native is adored by fans nationwide. While living in Australia at the age of five, Newton-John landed her first big break by winning a talent contest on the TV show, Sing, Sing, Sing, which allowed her to fly to London. After much dedication to her career, her well-known hit, “Physical,” topped the charts for 10 consecutive weeks, and over 15 top 10 singles.
In 1978, her co-starring role with John Travolta in Grease catapulted Newton-John into super-stardom.The film’s best-selling soundtrack featured the duets “You’re The One That I Want,” “Summer Nights” and her hit,”Hopelessly Devoted To You.” Even today, this movie remains the most successful movie musical in history.
“Whoever cast Olivia and John was completely brilliant! By infusing their great talents, they managed to create a movie that I personally enjoy every time I watch. Even to this day, when I hear their music, I can’t help but start singing along,” said Kenneth Pariona, fan of the movie Grease.
In the 90s, Newton-John successfully overcame her own battle with breast cancer, which translated into her reflective album, Gaia. She became well known and respected for talking openly about her battle with breast cancer and for promoting public awareness of the importance of early detection. In continuing efforts, she launched Liv Aid, a breast self-examination aid that assists women to exercise breast self-exams correctly. She is currently working on ongoing projects and philanthropic endeavors, creating a larger scale of popularity.
