Sing along with Pitch Perfect 2.
Pitch Perfect 2, the highly anticipated sequel to its 2012 predecessor hit theaters this past Friday, and it was met with expected praise. Directed by – and starring – Elizabeth Banks, beloved characters Beca (Anna Kendrick), Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) and Chloe (Brittany Snow) are all back for some more singing and adventures, while a new character, Emily (Hailee Steinfeld), definitely some new surprises to the already fantastic cast.
Pitch Perfect 2 starts off right where the first movie ended. Aubrey (Anna Camp) has graduated, but the Barden Bellas are still going strong – that is, until an embarrassing accident happens to Fat Amy during a performance for the President. The Barden Bellas are thrown into a web of mayhem and controversy, and as a result they are removed from the acapella competition circuit. In order to regain their position and be able to continue performing what they love, the girls make a deal with the acapella committee: if they win the International Acapella Competition, they will be reinstated. However, this task is far from simple. With new competition such as the large and intimidating German group, Das Sound Machine, they will have to go where no acapella group has gone before to win the trophy.
In the midst of laughs, silly moments and entertaining performances by the Bellas and even last movie’s crowd favorite, the Treblemakers, this sequel also throws in a heartwarming dose of bonding moments and important life lessons. In addition, it has managed to sin well with many popular review pages. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a solid 68 percent, citing that it “sings in sweet comedic harmony.” IMDb displays it’s average user rating at 7.8 out of 10, proving it’s enjoyment with the general public.
