Rocco comes to the Peak Performances lineup.

Rocco is coming to the Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University in early February, another Peak Performance that is sure to blow away the crowd.

The show will feature choreography by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, costumes by Clifford Portier, lighting by Paul Beumer and Pieter C. Scholten and a soundtrack by Pieter C. Scholten.

According to the Peak Performances website, “in the exuberant Rocco, choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten transform the Alexander Kasser Theater stage into a boxing ring, where every seat is ringside.  Dancers become boxers in a high-stakes match, challenging each other with punches and strikes, fast footwork and ingenious tactics.  Inspired by the classic Italian film, Rocco and His Brothers, Rocco depicts brotherly love and the struggle for a better life with dazzling physical virtuosity.”

The show is 65 minutes with no intermission.  All seating is onstage for this production.  Seating is general admission.  Please contact the box office at 973-655-5112 with any questions about seating.

Rocco will be performed on Feb. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available online at peakperfs.org or at the Kasser Theater box office for $20. Undergraduate students at Montclair State University also receive one free ticket to the show with a valid student I.D.

Refreshments are available at the concession stand before the performance but no food or drink is permitted inside the theater at any time. For light foods and coffee, Cafe Diem is located in close proximity to the theater and connected to the library. For a full menu available 24/7, the Red Hawk Diner is located on the far end of campus.

Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
