Sandwich Theory, located on Valley Road in Upper Montclair, is the newest oldest restaurant that has been serving the Montclair community. If you’re wondering what we mean by “newest oldest,” Sandwich Theory – formerly known as The Cheese Shop – has been serving Upper Montclair for the past 18 years. Now known as Sandwich Theory, the beloved restaurant serves a mouth-watering array of sandwiches, soups, salads and entrees. You can eat in, take out, call for a delivery or even order online right from their website.
Sandwich Theory offers all different types of meals including breakfast and lunch, as well as sweet snacks for anyone looking to cure their sweet tooth. Their breakfast, which is served until 2 p.m., offers a wide variety of meals including specialty breakfast sandwiches and specialty omelettes. Some of their specialty breakfast sandwiches include scrambled eggs, black forest ham and swiss on a croissant, fried eggs, sausage and cheddar on an english muffin, taylor ham, fried egg and american cheese on a bagel and more!
As for their omelettes, they serve the “Pico de Gallo Omelet” which includes mushrooms, hot peppers, onions, tomato and provolone. The “Western Omelet” has diced ham, mixed bell peppers, red onion and cheddar cheese. The “Greek Omelet” has grilled chicken, tomato, onions, avocado and feta cheese. All omelettes are served with home fries and toast, or if you’re looking for a healthier option, home fries and toast can be substituted for fruit. If any of the specialty omelettes don’t grab your attention, build you own omelettes are an available option.
If you’re looking to stop in for lunch, Sandwich Theory offers specialty sandwiches, grilled pressed sandwiches, wraps and salads. Sandwich Theory also has different daily specials. “I love Sandwich Theory because their sandwiches are so delicious,” said Montclair resident and Sandwich Theory lover, Mark Gerduc. “Anyone can put together a sandwich, but this place perfects the sandwich that I’ve never seen anyone else make!”
