Outpost is hosting their next Soup Kitchen Workday.

Another opportunity to get involved with the Outpost in the Burbs Soup Kitchen Workdays is coming up on March 21! The remaining dates for 2015 are April 18, May 16 and June 20, so those interested are urged to get involved in as many remaining Soup Kitchen Workdays as they can. All Soup Kitchen Workday volunteer opportunities are on Saturdays and begin at 9:30 a.m. The Workdays are currently all on the third Saturday of every month.

According to the Outpost in the Burbs website, “there are more opportunities to help bring nourishment to the clients of the soup kitchen at Christ Episcopal Church in East Orange. Space is limited to six or seven volunteers each workday, so be sure to contact Mary at mcgeewest@gmail.com as soon as possible. We’ll carpool to East Orange from the First Congregational Church parking lot at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 2 p.m.”

If you would like additional information or have an idea for a new community service project call Steve from Outpost at the Burbs at 973-744-6560 or send an e-mail to volunteers@outpostintheburbs.org.

The next concert coming up on the Outpost in the Burbs lineup is Jonatha Brooke on Tuesday, March 31. Brooke is a folk rock singer-songwriter and guitarist from Massachusetts. Her music merges elements of folk, rock and pop, often with distinct lyrics and complex harmonies. She has been a performer, writer and artist since the late 1980s, and her songs have been used in television shows and movies. Brooke is sure to offer a great performance, so get your tickets soon!

Outpost in the Burbs is known for their great concerts that always tie in giving back to the community. For more information on Outpost in the Burbs or to see the other shows taking place this season, visit the Outpost website at outpostintheburbs.org.
