With the current year quickly coming to an end, marking the finish to all of your holiday shopping, it’s the perfect time to focus on yourself and take note of all of the great trends to look forward to for the spring of 2014. Get some inspiration from the runways this season, with trends including everything from knits to crop tops, and Bermuda shorts to cropped jackets.

One runway look that will be easy to imitate this upcoming season is items that are inspired by colorful artwork. Prada’s runway show featured this spring trends with a green and black dress, with the entire bottom half covered in artwork. Chanel had the same idea in their fashion show, featuring a white dress with a colorful print covering the entire thing. Another simple trend that is easy to recreate is crop tops. Like the simple black crop top seen on a Rag & Bone model, it is easy to make this trend look classy by pairing it with a large, bulky blazer. This instantly makes the look more wearable, while also incorporating another huge trend itself, which is the blazer. Paired with a white blazer and white pants, the black crop top is a trend that can be worn by many women this spring. Spring trends that have been seen all over the runways lately are contrasting collars. In Tory Burch’s fashion show, she had one model wear a green dress with white detailing, which had a white collar. This look was also featured in Alexander Wang’s runway show, making the spring trends more noticeable by pairing a light blue button up with a white collar. A trend that can easily be incorporated into any wardrobe this spring is the striped trouser. This look was seen from BLK DNM, with the model wearing a black leather top paired with white trousers that had a black stripe running down both sides. This look is an easy update to any woman’s style, giving off a powerful and sophisticated vibe. A look that you can feature in your wardrobe right away is the collarless coat. There is a lot of focus on collars this season, but rather than making them stand out with contrasting colors, this trend removes them completely. This item works with everything from leather pants to a dress or a pencil skirt. J.Crew’s double-cloth symphony coat shows how amazing this trend can be when paired with a simple black turtleneck and jeans. These coats can be dressed up or down, worn in neutrals or playful colors and be simple and plain or decked out in jewels, showing that this is a trend that any woman will love. Now that all of the holiday shopping is over, it is time to focus on yourself and your wardrobe for this upcoming spring! Take a page from these runway shows to get the best look for yourself and don’t be afraid to try out these new spring trends!
