Stardust set to dazzle audiences.
Coming to the Alexander Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University from Feb. 6-9, is Stardust.It is expected to dazzle audiences. Based on the integration of technology through the story of a gay urban teen, this show is expected to push the envelope and evoke emotion from the audience. The show is 80 minutes in duration without an intermission.
Stardust was choreographed and written by David Roussève. He is a choreographer, writer, director and performer. He is truly talented. He graduated from Princeton University. He also has toured the world displaying his work. Roussève was the chair of the Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance at the University of California, Los Angeles from 2003-2006. He currently serves as a professor of choreography. Roussève is an incredible artistic man that should be watched and respected for his brilliant works.
Stardust is commissioned by the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Peak Performances at Montclair State. It is definitely something to lay your eyes on. Don’t miss out on this intriguing performance that will be talked about for weeks!
The show times are as follows: Feb. 6-7 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. Be sure to grab a pen and your calendar to mark these important dates and times. You don’t want to miss out. Immediately following Stardust on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. there will be a Community Conversation with writer and choreographer David Roussève. Also video artist Cari Ann Shim Sham and the dancers from REALITY. No ticket is required to attend this discussion. Please support this free feature to the performance. Who doesn’t love free things? Tickets to Stardust are available for $20 at the box office. It is located in the Kasser Theater. They are also available online at peakperfs.org. This service is completely accessible for those who always on the go. Every MSU student is able to receive one free ticket from the box office. Simply, present their valid student ID. Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck. It is next to the theater for an hourly rate. Attendees of the performance are able to have their parking validated for a flat fee inside the lobby of the Kasser Theater. Those who choose to pay the fee inside the parking deck can pay with either cash or credit at the automated machines inside. We hope our accommodations ease the process of watching the performance.
Food options are available on campus as well at the Red Hawk Diner that is open all night. It is located on the far side of the campus. Another option for light refreshments after Stardust is Cafe Diem. It is located close to the Kasser Theater. Please feel free to check out of these food services.
