Stone Sour plays alongside Golden Gods.

The Wellmont Theatre will be a stopping point for Revolver  magazine’s first ever “Road to the Golden Gods” tour. Sponsored by Epiphone and Drum Workshop, the concert will feature Stone Sour, with special guests In This Moment and Hell or High Water. Tickets are currently on sale for this night of rock for $32, rising the day of the show to $35.

Founded in 2010, newcomers Hell or Highwater show the same kind of promise any listener would hope for in a new band. Hell or Highwater released their first full-length album entitled Begin Again just this year. The album features single “Go Alone,” featuring M. Shadows. It will prove to be an interesting show to see Hell or Highwater take the stage and warm up the crowd before their fellow veteran tour mates.

Tour mates In This Moment saw an unconventional rise to fame. Together with lead singer Maria Brink, the band started playing Los Angeles night clubs for a select group of followers. These endeavors eventually lead to their rise in MySpace fame and an eventual record deal. The band saw the happy release of their first album in 2007, entitled Beautiful Tragedy.  Collectively, In This Moment has released three full-length albums, including their latest, Blood, released in 2012 and  featuring the single “Adrenalize.” The band has proven that small starts can lead to grand adventures. Known for their rock-infused cover of Blondie’s “Call Me,” In This Moment will surely be a crowd-pleaser.

Three-time Grammy-nominated Stone Sour may hail from Iowa, but they have left their mark all across the world. Seeing over four million album sales across their career worldwide, the band has much to be proud of in a short span of time. The bands current line-up consists of Corey Taylor on vocals, James Root and Josh Rand  on guitar and Roy Mayorga  on drums.

Their sophomore album, Come What(ever) May, saw gold certification, and its song “Through Glass” rose to success.  Stone Sour’s 2010 album, Audio Secrecy, was ranked sixth on Billboard Top 200, featuring such fan favorites as “Imperfect” and “Hesitate.” The rock sound may have changed and strengthened throughout their albums, but the promise of a solid performance for an eager crowd has never faltered.

Thinking up a creative approach to their albums, Stone Sour released the first part of their House of Gold & Blues album in 2012. Part two will be released just after the show on April 9. This installation will feature their single “Do Me a Favor.”

The concert will start at 8 p.m. with doors opening to the public at 7 p.m. For food and drink before and after the show, check out Raymonds on Church Street or Nauna’s Bella Casa on Valley Road. Located a short walking distance from The Wellmont is also a Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. Arrive early and see all that Montclair’s dozens of restaurants and eateries have to offer every concert attendee.

Parking for the show is available in the parking lot next to the Wellmont, as well as designed parking areas and street parking where permissible. For more information about the show or to purchase tickets, please visit the Wellmont website.
