South Moon Under shares their suitcase essentials.
You’ve waited all year to use those paid vacation days and the time has finally arrived. Whether that break entails getting away for a long weekend at the Jersey Shore or flying somewhere exotic, it’s imperative to stuff your summer suitcase with multiple outfit and accessory options. No matter the trip, you want to be ready for any kind of activity or weather. With the ever-stylish help of South Moon Under, we’ve compiled a few key tips to keep in mind as you go pack your suitcase essentials.
When it comes to your suitcase essentials…
Bring workout wear
Yep, you heard that correctly. Just because you may not want to take advantage of that fancy hotel gym doesn’t mean you should discount workout clothes from your packing list. Sometimes people feel more adventurous on vacation and activities like hiking, climbing, and biking may suddenly not be as out-of-the-question as they were at home. Make sure you have a pair of sneakers, a sports bra, and some bottoms that allow for flexibility such as a pair of leggings.
Pack your best dress
There may be a night when you want to go out to a fancy restaurant or hop on a dinner cruise, so it’s important to come equipped with a few looks that are Jackie O-dressy. You can never go wrong with a little black dress, an elegant yet simplistic necklace, and a pair of heels. This classic combo is perfect for vacation because it can accommodate any situation with the help of some accessories. For a more casual look, ditch the jewels and heels and pair it with sneakers or flats and a floppy hat.
Protect yourself from the sun
Andrea Espinosa, store manager of Montclair’s South Moon Under, will tell you that when it comes to traveling, a versatile pair of sunglasses is always at the top of her list, “My go-to pair is my white framed classic Ray-Ban Aviators.” She continues, “I also always reach for a chic hat to pair with my outfits to give me a little more UV protection, so the San Diego Co. Oversized Floppy Hat is always a top choice.” Espinosa also makes it a priority to stay hydrated, “While I’m out site seeing, my Swell water bottle is a traveling essential. It keeps my water cold for 24 hours!”
You don’t have to bring all of your makeup–just the essentials
Espinosa says, “Of course makeup is always a must, but instead of bringing a whole bunch of glosses and lipsticks, I pack my Sugar Lip Treatment. It’s neutral, so it goes with everything, but also gives my lips a little pop of color and additional UV protection.” She also adds that no vacation is complete without a little sparkle, “I always bring along my Jewelry Inspired Metallic Flash Tattoos. My current favorite collection is the Desert Dweller.
