Tia Marie Beading Studio offers summer activities for everyone to enjoy.
Summer is here and it’s beading camp time! With nine weeks of pure beading fun, there is something for everyone to learn, from “Simple Chic” to “Asian Crafts.” Welcome to Summer Beading Camp 2015.
According to Tia Marie’s website, the camp activities are grouped by themed weeks with their own projects and activities. Each day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. With a snack break between projects. You can pick individual days, pick whole weeks or book the whole summer! Plus, there’s a special gift for those who book three weeks or more of camp.
The cost for attending is $55 per day, $225 per week or $2,195 for the whole summer. Please note that projects and prices are subject to change, and no credit will be given for missed days.
The first week is introduced as “Simple Chic” running from July 8 to 10. The basics of bead stringing is taught which includes basic design technique, use of tools and the proper use of the bead board and how to close your project. In addition, you will learn how to construct a memory wire bracelet, Multi-strand necklace and Multi-strand bracelet. Week two will begin with the “Safety Pin Style,” which will run from July 13 to 17. You will learn how to make a Single Strand Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet, Broach and a Double Strand Necklace; there is also a choice of making a ring, pendant, chandelier earrings, angel and basket.
Next, week three is “Glass Gardens,” running from July 20 to 24. If you like the sound of wind chimes or the sun shining with the colors of the spectrum, maybe a Sun Catcher or Crystal Ladder Sun Catcher is your thing! You can turn your backyard or porch into a wonderland of sound and light. You will learn how to make wind chimes, crystal ladder sun catcher, sun-spiral and beaded butterfly. Week four is “DIY Divine,” running from July 27 to 31. You will learn the arts of making sand beads, paper beads, cold porcelain beads and pendants and Shrinky Dinks charms.
Week five is “Mermaid Beach,” running from Aug. 3 to 7. Projects include: “Shell and Pearl Jewelry,” “Message in a Bottle Necklace,” “Beaded Headband,” “Barefoot Sandals,” “Beaded Hemp Bracelet”and “Beaded Hemp Anklet.” Week six is “Fairy Princess,” running from Aug. 10 to 14. Ever wanted to be a fairy princess? This is your week! Transform your room and wardrobe into a fantastic fairy wonderland with your own creations of special jewelry and room décor. Very interesting projects include: “Tiera,” “Fairy Dust Bottle Necklace,” “‘Bubble Wand” and “Beaded Fairy Doll Keychain.”
