Since the mid-’60s, Tom Jones has sung nearly every form of popular music. From pop, rock, show tunes and country, to dance and techno, he’s sung it all – and Jones has done it exceptionally well. It’s no surprise that the Wellmont Theater was able to book this amazing talent on Sept. 28!

Born as Thomas John Woodward, Jones began singing professionally in 1963 as he performed as Tommy Scott with the Senators, a Welsh beat group. A year later, he recorded solo tracks with record producer, Joe Meek. Within no time, he was recognized for his undeniable talents by Decca produced Peter Sullivan at a club. During one of his performances, former Viscounts singer Gordon Mills, was impressed by scott and immediately signed him as he renamed him as Tom Jones. Although Jones’ first single “Chills and Fever” didn’t chart, “It’s Not Unusual” became a number one hit in the U.K. and a Top Ten in the U.S. From there, it was hit after hit for Jones.

It has been said that Jones has a large female fan base as he naturally radiates a raw sexuality that females can not resist! It doesn’t matter if Jones is in an unbuttoned shirt or a tuxedo. So ladies, make sure to make it a girls night out and enjoy!
