Tree Lighting Festivities in Montclair

Join Montclair for the holiday season as they host their tree lighting event!

Montclair will be hosting its annual holiday tree lighting on Fri. Dec. 2 at 6 P.M. in Church Street Plaza. Enjoy the lovely tunes by the incredible Montclair Community Band and as well as an evening of fun winter entertainment in downtown Montclair. Please Note: Church Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at 5:00 p.m.

Santa Claus will also be stopping by the great town of Montclair! Come take a memorable photo with Santa, just for $3! He will visiting the Business Districts on a Montclair Fire Department fire truck and will have gifts for all youngsters on Sat. Dec. 3. Please see schedule below:

  • 11:00 AM – Walnut St. Business District (Walnut St. Lot)
  • 11:30 AM – Watchung Plaza (Watchung Ave. & N. Fullerton Ave.)
  • 12:00 PM – St. James Church (Bellevue Ave. & Valley Rd.)
  • 12:30 PM – South End Business District (Orange Rd. & Cedar Ave.)

“Our holiday events have become an annual tradition,” said Montclair Recreation & Cultural Affairs Director, Pat Brechka. “Each year we look forward to families joining us for the countdown to light up the tree and to greet Santa as he arrives on a fire truck, waving to the children. It really does makes for a wonderful occasion that everyone enjoys.”

The Montclair Community Band will play at each location as they accompany Santa Claus spreading the holiday spirit to Montclair.

You can also have your children mail a letter to Santa Claus and receive a personalized letter in return! Letters may also be dropped off at the Montclair Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Please remember to include a return address. Santa’s Mailbox will only accept letters until Thurs. Dec. 15.
