Traditional Chinese medicine at Village Acupuncture.
If you are looking for a new way to relax your body and mind, look no further than Village Acupuncture. Acupuncture is a part of traditional Chinese medicine where thin needles are inserted into the skin at specific angels at acupuncture points.
Village Acupuncture has been providing this traditional Chinese medicine to the Montclair community since 1999. All healthcare services are provided by Mitchel Chalek, Licensed Acupuncturist and Nationally Certified in Chinese Herbology. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Acupressure, cupping and gua sha are also provided when appropriate.
Chalek is highly skilled in this field, and enjoys helping clients on their journey to relaxation. “I enjoy working on a personal level with individual people and achieve a great sense of satisfaction in helping them work through a difficult health crisis or simply achieve better health,” said Chalek, who is also the sole provider at Village Acupuncture who works personally with all patients.
According to Chalek, acupuncture is used for treating a large number of conditions. Most people come into Village Acupuncture for joint and muscle pain due to injury or other conditions such as arthritis and other acute and chronic inflammatory syndromes. Many people also experience a state of extreme relaxation that occurs with acupuncture treatments. This makes acupuncture appropriate for treating nervous disorders such as stress, anxiety and insomnia.
Acupuncture can also improve general health, digestion and fertility. For people with chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease or multiple sclerosis, acupuncture can help to manage pain, fatigue and debility without additional drugs.
Chalek has been studying various techniques for years, making him very familiar with the field. “I became interested in Shiatsu as a young man and signed up for courses where I learned the technique,” said Chalek. “Through my studies at the Ohashi Institute, I became interested in the theories of Chinese medicine and decided to pursue this interest further through the study of acupuncture and Chinese herbology.”
Village Acupuncture is a part of the always-expanding Montclair community, and Chalek has been in the area for a while. “I’ve lived in Montclair for a good part of my life and found that the people living here are open minded and interested in natural and traditional styles of healthcare,” said Chalek.
