Wintertime coming up on Peak Performances line-up.
Coming to the campus of Montclair State University‘s Fox Theater is Chuck Mee’s Wintertime to join the Peak Performances winter lineup. The show is directed by Heather Benton, and the show is by Montclair State’s very own Department of Theater and Dance.
According to the Peak Performances website, “in the hours before New Year’s Eve the members of an upper class family and their lovers arrive at the summer lake house to find they are not alone. The New York Times called Wintertime ‘a raucous riff on love in its many permutations.’ It combines the pathos of Greek drama, the philosophical musings of Chekhov, the romantic quadrangles of Molière and the ridiculousness of a French farce. Mee’s eclectic theatrical style is as rich in heart and truth as it is in chaos and irreverence.”
Wintertime will be performed on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and two final showings on Dec. 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. This show will be at Fox Theater on the campus of Montclair State University, next to Memorial Auditorium and across from Cafe Diem. Tickets are available online at peakperfs.org or at the Kasser Theater box office for $15. Undergraduate students at Montclair State also receive one free ticket to the show with a valid student I.D.
Refreshments are available at the concession stand before the performance but no food or drink is permitted inside the theater at any time. For light foods and coffee, Cafe Diem is located in close proximity to the theater and connected to the library. For a full menu available 24/7, the Red Hawk Diner is located on the far end of campus.
Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
