Dot Reeder is a boutique with a tons of lovely choices.
Finishing off from a long day of school and work I find nothing more soothing than feasting my eyes on racks and racks of new clothing. Passing by Dot Reeder, and seeing the mannequins perfectly dressed in new fall clothing, I knew I had to stop in.
I have been in my fair share of boutiques, so when stumbling upon one unexpectedly I knew I had found a winner. However, loving what’s inside is like discovering a hidden gem. I decided to cave in, even with very little assets to my name, and take a peak inside. Browsing through the racks I discovered brands such as Cheap Monday, Ace & Jig, Bellerose, APC, Steven Alan, Red Flower, Aryn K and my greatest excitement, Alexander Wang. The were racks all blended in beautiful color coordination of forest green, sangria red, royal blue, mustard yellow, cognac browns and of course black, which is never out of season. Thick sweaters, delicate blouses and printed cocktail dresses were a trend in this boutique.
My first impression was that most of the clothing was geared towards a more mature age group. However, while examining each piece of clothing through the racks, I took back my assumption and noticed each individual piece could be worn by women of any age. Beautifully crafted coats and perfectly tailored trousers all caught my eye. The style is definitely for more classic and conservative yet trendy women. They also have an area of great quality jeans ranging in colors of black to khaki green. I was particularly smitten with a pair of black moto jeans with paneled construction on the thighs that I am definitely returning to purchase. Dot Reeder also has an awesome selection of boots, scarves, jewelry and handbags.
Dot Reeder is on the pricier side, but you definitely get more bang for your buck. Quality clothing fills the boutique and you definitely pay for longevity and versatility with each piece you purchase. Dot Reeder is located at 129 Watchung Avenue in Montclair, so if you are looking for some staple quality pieces to add to your wardrobe this is the perfect boutique to check out.
