Montclair State honors veterans with Price of Freedom.
On Dec. 7 at 3 p.m., a special concert will take place on the campus of Montclair State University. Price of Freedom will be performed by Montclair State’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band in memorium of those who have served. The show is conducted by Thomas McCauley.
According to the Peak Performances website, “the annual Beatrice Crawford Memorial Concert will celebrate and remember the many men and women who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy today. The renowned Imani Winds will join both the MSU Wind Symphony and the MSU Symphonic Band in a program that includes Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, O’Neil Douglas’s hauntingly beautiful Harriet inspired by the life and work of Harriet Tubman and much, much more.”
Additionally, this concert is a free public performance supported by a rant from the Keating Crawford Foundation; the performance is in memory of Beatrice Crawford, a Montclair musician who was the director of two choral groups.
Food options are available on campus as well at the Red Hawk Diner that is open all night. It is located on the far side of the campus. Another option for light refreshments after Price of Freedom is Cafe Diem. It is located close to the Kasser Theater. Please feel free to check out of these food services.
