Outpost in the Burbs hosts benefit for Parkinson’s disease called Light of Day Benefit.
Coming to Montclair on Saturday, Jan. 10 is the Light of Day Benefit at Outpost in the Burbs, held from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. This benefit is set to “continue the battle to defeat Parkinson’s disease and related illnesses,” and will have a lineup which so-far features Garland Jeffreys, James Maddock, Steve Conte of the New York Dolls and Joe D’Urso, with more performers to be announced.
According to the Outpost website, “The Light of Day Foundation, Inc., utilizes the power of music to raise money and awareness in its continuing battle to defeat Parkinson’s disease and related illnesses such as PSP and ALS within our lifetime. The Foundation’s mission is to fund research into possible cures, improved treatments and support for patients who suffer from those illnesses, their families and their caregivers to help improve their quality of life.”
Tickets for the Light of Day Benefit are $35 for general admission and $100 for VIP tickets, which includes reserved seats (in front two rows) and a pre-concert wine and cheese reception with the artists. Tickets can be purchased in person at Keil’s Pharmacy, Terra Tea and Studio042. They can also be purchased online at ticketleap.com. The show is from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., so be sure to get there with plenty of time for parking and to ensure you don’t need to rush around before what is sure to be a great show to kick off the new season!
The Light of Day Benefit ‘s venue is located just one block over from Valley Road, which has great choices for places to eat before or after the show. One restaurant, Nauna’s Bella Casa, will give you a wonderful experience perfect for the whole family. Nauna’s offers a wide array of Italian cooking, appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches, veal, chicken and seafood dishes. All reasonably priced, from their recommended fried calamari at $9.99, chicken parmigiana at $14.99 and stuffed rigatoni at $13.99.
