Montclair Baseball and Softball spring registration opens on Jan. 12.
Looking to take part in baseball or softball this spring season? Montclair Recreation is now accepting spring registrations for the junior baseball/softball league. The program is now open to Glen Ridge residents. The spring registration period is Jan. 12 through March 13.
Interested participants can register online register.communitypass.net. Walk-in registrations are also accepted at the Recreation Department, located at 205 Claremont Avenue in Montclair. Applications are accepted from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registrations after March 13 will be charged an additional late fee of $25 per child.
The spring season begins on April 27 and ends on June 20. Games and practices will be held weeknights at 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Gloves and rubber cleats are required to play, and uniforms will be issued.

The fees to participate for Montclair and Glen Ridge residents are: $120 per child up to two children, $100 per child up to three children of the same family or $90 per child up to four children of the same family. There is an additional $35 fee for non-residents.
Although the spring registration period is until March 13, registration ends when the program is full, with no exceptions.
Grade school baseball is split into two divisions: “AAA,” where kids pitch and includes grades 3-4 and “Majors,” which includes Grades 5-6. Softball is split into two divisions as well: junior softball for grades 3-5 and senior softball for grades 6-8. Both softball divisions are for girls only. The AAA and Majors baseball and junior and senior softball programs are available to Montclair and Glen Ridge residents only. Teams will be formed by the Recreation Department.
Middle school baseball is open for grades 7-8 and is available to Montclair and Glen Ridge residents and players will be placed according to the school they attend. Grades K-2 should contact the Montclair Baseball Softball Club at montclairbsc.org.
