‘s A Winter’s Tale is brought to life.
A classic will come to life in late February with a stage performance of William Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale.
A Winter’s Tale is a play by Shakespeare and was originally published in the First Folio of 1623. Although it was printed alongside various Shakespeare comedies, some modern editors have decided that it should actually be classified as a romance. Some people are more highlighly critical of the show, as it starts out filled with intense psychological drama, while the last two acts are comedic and supply a happy ending.
There have been many adaptations and performances of A Winter’s Tale. There have been two film versions, one silent version and a 1967 version. Most recently, in 2014 choreographer Christopher Wheeldon created a full-length ballet at the Royal Opera House in London.
