Dirt & Noise offers choices for children.
New York native, Melissa Adler, put her dreams into reality 14 months ago. She is the proud owner of “Dirt & Noise,” a stylish children’s boutique located in Montclair. Adler, who has a background in women’s fashion, has always known she wanted to do something on her own and after having her two boys and moving to Montclair she knew just what she wanted to do. She felt that there was a lack of children’s clothing stores, especially in the Montclair area, and used her knowledge in fashion to open up her own store.
Dirt & Noise is home to stylish and playful children’s clothes. Her vision was to sell clothes that kids can go from the playground to a birthday party in and are also stylish and unique. They carry brands such as Prefresh, Joah Love, NuNuNu, Gardner and the Gang, Rowdy Sprout and so much more. It is important to Adler to sell top, trendy brands but make them accessible to everyone. Hollywood has certainly started to buzz on children’s fashion. It feels like everywhere you turn another celebrity is starting a family or expanding their family, even the royal family! It is a “happening” trend right now from coast to coast and Adler believes that dressing your children is an extension of your expression, through style.
Shopping at Dirt & Noise is not like shopping at your local department store, it’s more of an experience. Adler gets to know her customers, their kids and their style. There is always something going on whether online or in store. They hosted “Music Day” in the store last year and will defiantly be hosting another one in the near future. Last August they also had a “Back to School Drive,” where customers could donate old clothes, backpacks, etc. and with their donation they received a percentage off their future purchase. Adler always wants to keep customers engaged so she is often running contests and giveaways on their social media platforms, @dirtandnoise. Each season Dirt & Noise also creates a look book to showcase the new items they will be selling.
Adler is very excited and enthusiastic about the future of Dirt & Noise. Right now she is focusing on her online presence. Online shopping has been available since October and just recently she shipped an order all the way out to Hawaii! They are open Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., located at 43a Church Street. Dirt & Noise is everything you could want when looking for unique clothes for kids; Adler will make you happy, the store will make you smile and more importantly your kids will look adorable!
