Nature can be a part of the solution for many of the challenges our world faces. The Nature Conservancy, in conjunction with the Princeton Environmental Film Festival and Princeton Public Library, is pleased to present a free screening of Inhabit, an inspirational documentary that sets out to show that it is possible to meet human needs while increasing the health and well-being of our planet through a concept called permaculture: a design method that uses nature to address agricultural, economic and community issues.
“Permaculture sounds like a very scientific word, but what it really means is that with a little planning people can benefit nature as much as nature can benefit people,” said Dr. Barbara Brummer, The Nature Conservancy’s New Jersey State Director. “Inhabit shows us how, using diverse examples from New Jersey and other states along with beautiful cinematography that leaves the audience feeling inspired. The Nature Conservancy, which embraces and promotes the concept of people and nature working in harmony, is very pleased to present this free film screening to the Montclair area community, and we hope everyone will come out to see the movie and talk with us afterwards.”
A 30-minute Q&A session with Costa Boutsikaris, the film’s creator, and Bob Allen, Assistant State Director for The Nature Conservancy in New Jersey, will immediately follow the film. Admission is free with registration and all guests receive a complimentary Nature Conservancy baseball cap. Anyone interested in attending can register for free tickets at www.nature.org/njevents.
