An Evening for the Arts at Montclair State University.
“An Evening for the Arts” will highlight the talents of students enrolled in the College of the Arts at Montclair State University, including the 2013 American Idol contestant Evan Ruggiero, with the Shanghai Quartet and other special guests. Come out and see for yourself some of the best that Montclair has to offer.
Audience members will be treated to a variety of musical performances and culture. Tickets for “An Evening for the Arts” can be purchased for $100 each through the College of the Arts website or by calling Colette LaCaruba at 973-655-3435. All proceeds of the evening will benefit students in the College of the Arts with scholarships, and will also provide funding for arts programs within the college.
The Alexander Kasser Theater, where this event will be held, is a 53,000 square foot facility, providing ample space for College of the Arts showcases of dance, musical theater and orchestra and opera concerts. The theater can accommodate up to 500 people and includes state-of-the-art lighting and sound, as well as a large orchestra pit.
The College of the Arts has been designated by the state of New Jersey as a “Center of Excellence in the Arts,” providing the top education and training to students of the university. There are over 50 majors, minors and concentrations in the areas of art and design, television and digital media, communication studies, dance, music and theatre. This provides aspiring students the skills needed to thrive in the world of arts and a foundation to start the career of their dreams.
This evening would not be possible without support of the community. One of these supporters is Studio042, located in Montclair. Studio042 is known for their philanthropic support of non-profit organizations, individuals and businesses since 1989, and is a long time supporter and advocate of education, arts, business and environment.
For CEO of Studio042, Scott Kennedy, the College of the Arts has a place close to his heart. Kennedy served on the College of the Arts Advisory Board from 2005-2011. He states, “The dream has been realized. The future of the arts in America is on full display on any given day at Montclair State University.” When the community is in need, Studio042 strives to help in every way possible.

The curtain will raise at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a special reception at 8:30 p.m. “An Evening for the Arts” will be held in the Alexander Kasser Theatre. Parking for the event can be found in the Red Hawk Parking Deck at an hourly rate, located directly next to the theatre.
