‘Atomos’ brings wondrous dance to Kasser.
As the weather begins to slowly start to improve, we are all eager to get out and participate more in the world of arts. Atomos comes to Montclair State University from Wayne McGregor.
McGregor is a British choreographer and director who has created works for companies such as the Paris Opera Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet, the New York City Ballet and the Australian Ballet. McGregor has also won many awards, his most recent being awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for Services to Dance, and his experience is sure to shine in Atomos.
McGregor also founded Random Dance, a dance company that puts on shows that tour throughout the world. According to the Random Dance website, “Atomising bodies, movement, film, sound and light into miniature shards of intense sensation, Atomos is the newest work by cutting-edge contemporary choreographer Wayne McGregor.” Composed of 10 dancers, this show is like no other, as it attempts to represent art and science through the body.
Based off of a combination of modern and random dance, Atomos is approximately 72 minutes running time with no intermission.
