According to their website, blulotusstore.com, “Blu Lotus opened as New Dimensions in 1995 by owner Craig Sloan who had a dream, a credit card and enough money to buy a few products (very few). In 2007, the name was changed to Blu Lotus Metaphysical Center as agreed upon by Craig and his late business partner and friend Heidi Dommasch. Through the years Blu Lotus has evolved into a thriving center that has helped hundreds of people through its healing based products and services including psychic readings, massage therapy, meditation circles, yoga and more. It has emerged to become a beacon for the community and is now enjoying its 20th anniversary of service for a new generation!”
Sloan opened Blu Lotus in 1995 by answering a store rental advertisement. According to Joseph Longo, he had never been to Montclair but after seeing Church Street he knew it was the perfect location. The tone of downtown Montclair is very open and a unique store like Blu Lotus has been eagerly accepted.
Sloan also offers psychic readings, something completely unique to the experience at Blu Lotus. Sloan was placed in the reading room one day at the advise of a friend when the reader did not show. He had been doing tarot readings for friends for years but never thought he would do them at Blu Lotus. Now, 20 years later he still reads daily for scheduled clients both in person and around the world.
Additionally, if you’re looking for a little more spiritual well being, be sure to check out the Healing Touch. The Healing Touch is located in the lower level of Blu Lotus with two beautiful studios. Many clients spend an afternoon of well being by getting a massage, a psychic reading and browsing the store. Classes and seminars are also provided including Meditation, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Yoga, Tai Chi and more.
