Breaking Benjamin is prepared to take the Wellmont Theater stage on Sunday, May 17 at 8 p.m. for a show that is sure to get the crowd moving. Breaking Benjamin is a rock band that was founded in 1998 by Benjamin Burnley in Pennsylvania.

Burley is the only member of the band who was been constant since 1998, and has served as the primary songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist. Currently, he is accompanied by bassist and backing vocalist Aaron Bruch, guitarist and backing vocalist Keith Wallen, guitarist Jasen Rauch and drummer Shaun Foist.

Breaking Benjamin has had four studio albums since 2002, with a new album set to release next month. The album is titled Dark Before Dawn, and is the first album the band will release in four years. Two of their albums have been platinum, one gold and one gold single in the United States. Among the group’s most successful charting albums include Phobia, which reached number one on the Top Digital Albums and Top Rock Albums charts, as well as Dear Agony, which reached number one on the Top Alternative Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts.

This tour was kicked off in April, and is a tour celebrating their soon-to-be released studio album, which will run until July 2015 after making its stop in Montclair. Dark Before Dawn will be released on June 23, yet it’s already reaching new heights on the charts. Within an hour of pre-order availability, Dark Before Dawn reached number one on the rock album chart on iTunes and number three on the overall album chart.

If you’re looking for food before or after the Breaking Benjamin show, be sure to check out the many options that are located right by the Wellmont. One great choice is Ah Pizz, a delicious pizzeria right off of Bloomfield on North Willow Street. Ah Pizz offers amazing choices in pizzas and Italian-style dishes, and is a BYO/BYOB restaurant.

Breaking Benjamin tickets start at $20 and are available online at livenation.com or at the Wellmont Theater box office. The Wellmont Theater is located right off of Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Parking is available across from the venue, but is limited. Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early for a spot, but additional parking is also available on the side streets and along Bloomfield Avenue. The show starts at 8 p.m. but doors open at 7 p.m., so be sure to get there early to experience everything Montclair has to offer!
