Outpost in the Burbs hosts Brothers and Sisters Co-Bill.

Coming to Outpost in the Burbs on Friday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. is a Brothers and Sisters co-bill, featuring Brother Sun and the Chapin Sisters.

According to the Outpost website, “Fusing folk, Americana, blues, pop, jazz, rock and a cappella singing, Brother Sun is an explosion of musical diversity and harmony, in the finest of male singing traditions. Not to be outdone by their male counterparts, Abigail and Lily Chapin (Tom Chapin’s daughters) plan to enchant you with their ‘soft harmonies and dark sidelong lyrics (which) fit perfectly into a new folk aesthetic that is more twisted than freaky.'”

Tickets for the Brothers and Sisters co-bill are $22 in advance and can be purchased in person at Keil’s PharmacyTerra Tea and Studio042. They can also be purchased online at ticketleap.com. The show is from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., so be sure to get there with plenty of time for parking and to ensure you don’t need to rush around before what is sure to be a great show to kick off the new season!

In a great twist, concert-goers can also receive discounted tickets for just $15 in exchange for non-perishable food. According to the Outpost website, “bring one or more non-perishable food items with you to the show and receive your ticket at this special reduced price. Donations of stuffing mix, canned yams, instant potatoes, packaged gravy, cranberry sauce, piecrust mix and pie filling are especially needed for the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair.” This great idea comes just in time for the community to rally together to help provide Thanksgiving meals.

This venue is located just one block over from Valley Road, which has great choices for places to eat before or after the show. One restaurant, Nauna’s Bella Casa, will give you a wonderful experience perfect for the whole family. Nauna’s offers a wide array of Italian cooking, appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches, veal, chicken and seafood dishes. All reasonably priced, from their recommended fried calamari at $9.99, chicken parmigiana at $14.99 and stuffed rigatoni at $13.99.
