Join Montclair in raising money for the Exotic Charity Car Rally to assist an individual with Cerebral Palsy.
Participate in a heart-felt event on Sunday, July 10 for the third annual Charity Car Rally, welcoming over 50 Italian exotic cars, in which a portion of the registration fees will be donated to United Cerebral Palsy in honor of this year’s honoree, Dante Rafello Neseconti. The intriguing event will take place on Church St. in downtown Montclair, featuring vehicles such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and many other Italian sports cars.
The Exotic Charity Car Rally will be hosted by the new cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Siggy Flicker, Dolores Catania and Fresco Da Franco Italian Eatery of Montclair. There is a 10 a.m. check-in for vehicles, followed by the rally and awards at noon and live music at 1 p.m.
For information on how to participate in the Exotic Charity Car Rally, please contact franco@1000autoclub.com (Italian exotic cars only). For reservations at the restaurant, please call (973) 337-5100.
Luckily, I had the opportunity to have a brief Q&A with Franco Porporino Jr, who is quite familiar with this year’s honoree, Dante Rafello Neseconti and will be proudly participating in the event with his own Italian exotic car!
Q: How did you decide to embark this Exotic Charity Car Rally?
A: I started the annual charity car rally the first year Fresco was open. I am an ambassador to the Integrity House Adolescent Rehab in Newark, N.J., and as a philanthropist I truly believe in helping people in need. It’s now the most highly anticipated event of the year and draws people together in time of need.
Q: What is your contribution?
A: My contribution is bringing awareness the charity that we support every year. Fresco da Franco is the main host and owning an exotic car over the year I have formed the exclusive Miglia Mille Italian Car Club.
Q: Being a part of Fresco Da Franco Italian Eatery of Montclair, what do you want customers to know about your business? What makes it unique?
A: Fresco Da Franco is not your ordinary Italian restaurant. What I mean by that [is] it all starts as you pull up. With our valet parking, to the ambiance of pop up art and on Friday and Saturday night after 9 p.m. we turn into a supper club. It’s the only place in New Jersey where you will see people dance in their seats while they are eating, and occasional[ly] customers stand up and actually do the Hustle to the sounds of The Tramps, Barry White and France Joli. I wanted to bring something to Montclair that was different. We are the ultimate dining experience [with] great food, great ambiance and great music. Last year, on Aug. 6 we received the highest accolade in hospitality: the International 5 Star Diamond Award, endorsed by Chef Daniel Boulud, Alain Ducasse and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. We also have been featured endlessly in U.S. Weekly as the hottest celebrity hot spot in New Jersey and home of all of the RHONJ!
Q: What is your advice to family and friends who have a dear loved one with any disability?
A: I think anyone that has a loved one that is impaired by any disability is truly special. The challenges they face at times are truly challenges that most us would not be able to endure. The power of prayers and the gift of life are two things that are truly magical.
