Live Nation Says Hello, Bowery Says Goodbye

Locals throughout the Montclair area adore the Wellmont Theatre, right off of Bloomfield Avenue in the heart of Montclair. However, Live Nation has recently taken over for the bookings and management of the historic theatre.

Live Nation is taking over.

Up until just a few weeks ago, Bowery Presents has been in charge of bringing fantastic shows to the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, N.J. In the past, fans have seen shows such as David Byrne and St. Vincent and the Flaming Lips. Now, Live Nation has taken over, promising to bring bigger events to the historic Jersey theatre.

The new team is known as Live Nations Club and Theatre Team, which will be overseen by Sean Striegel and Jason Stone. According to Baristanet, the new team “plans to continue to expand on the programming of the venue.”

Speculation that Bowery Presents would not be continuing with the Wellmont began when there seemed to be no further bookings after the MGMT show on June 20. There were rumors that the Bowery had to keep emergency personnel on site during shows, but these costly bodies were not hired for any shows after the MGMT concert.

As of mid-June, Live Nation has officially signed on to take over for Bowery Presents in booking shows for the theatre. As of right now, there aren’t any shows lined up for the Wellmont, but Live Nation promises to bring fans and eager concert-goers bigger names and shows, giving many people something to look forward to, despite the recent changes.

LiveNation will not let Montclair down. It will only bring the best of the best performances to our great town. Be sure to keep an eye out for the line up of their shows. Hurry up and grab your calendar and a pen and start jotting down those important dates. You surely don’t want to miss out on any of them. Purchase tickets before the performance you’ve dying to see is sold out!
