Hair brings rock music to life.
The Department of Theater and Dance will be performing a production of the rock musical Hair at the end of the month, and tickets are going to go fast! Be sure to be part of the last musical experience from the Theater and Dance students this year. The show will be performed on April 29 through May 1 at 7:30 p.m., May 2 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., with a final showing on May 3 at 2 p.m.
According to the Peak Performances website, “Hair, the legendary, trailblazing rock musical, puts the philosophy and culture of 60s-era flower children center stage. A show that bridges generations and viewpoints, featuring phenomenally successful musical numbers like Aquarius and Good Morning Starshine, Hair’s vitality and exuberance lives on.”
Food options are available on campus as well at the Red Hawk Diner that is open all night. It is located on the far side of the campus. Another option for light refreshments after Hair is Cafe Diem, which now serves food from Au Bon Pain. It is located close to the Kasser Theater. Please feel free to check out of these food services.
Tickets for Hair are available at the box office located in the Alexander Kasser Theater or online at the Peak Performances website, peakperfs.org. Montclair undergraduate students are permitted one free ticket with their student ID. All tickets are $15. The Kasser Theater is located towards the front of campus next to the Red Hawk Parking Deck. Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
