The end of summer is approaching, so it’s time to get in some fun before school is back in session! Take a trip to the Wellmont on Saturday, Aug. 30 to see Jeff Bridges and the Abiders take the stage. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is sure to leave you with one unforgettable summer night.

Jeff Bridges and his band, the Abiders, are well-known on the music scene, and their most recent tour included their debut in performing on the east coast. Now, they are coming to Montclair to continue their hit tour. The group has been performing all over the country since their most recent album release in 2011, a self-titled album by Bridges.

Fans can also see Jeff Bridges in the book-to-movie adaptation of The Giver, which was released on Aug. 15 and also stars celebrities such as Taylor Swift. Bridges also has an extensive acting career: he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Otis “Bad” Blake in Crazy Heart and earned Academy Award nominations for his roles in The Last Picture Show, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Starman, The Contender and True Grit.

You can get into that laid back and carefree feeling before the show with a number of restaurants in the area. The Wellmont Theater is located right on Bloomfield Ave and offers many options for food and drinks. Check out one of the local favorites, Cuban Pete’s, for the perfect outdoor island vibe with a BYO-alcohol policy and hugely talked about Sangria.

Jeff Bridges and the Abiders’ tickets start at $29.50 and are available online at or at the Wellmont Theater box office. The Wellmont Theater is located right off of Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Parking is available across from the venue, but is limited. Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early for a spot, but additional parking is also available on the side streets and along Bloomfield Avenue.
