Enhance the learning experience with MLC STEM Center!
If you’re looking for something for the kids to do this summer to keep their brains working, look no further than the MLC STEM Center. The MLC STEM Center is an educational playcenter, a one-stop destination for all things STEM. The center offers educational workshops and classes, amazing birthday parties and toys, games and books.
For more than 10 years, the MLC STEM Center team has engaged students in educational and entertaining activity to spark their creativity and interest in STEM. The staff is composed of experienced STEM professionals.
According to Christiane Agkpo, the Montclair Learning Center is a STEM+ Summer Camp offered at 73 South Fullerton Ave. in Montclair. “We remain inside the church for the summer because this space offers large rooms and outdoor space for the summer camp,” said Agkpo.
The STEM Center offers workshops, classes, maker space and parties all year long. The programs are focused on children pre-K through high school. The STEM subjects include and are not limited to coding and programming, robotics, chess, video game making, 3D design/printing and Arduino. They also offer a Little Engineers program for children three to five years old.
“People can stop by the center anytime to play, create and shop,” said Agkpo.
Some upcoming fall programs will include the regular programming and robotics course, Little Engineer program, weekend STEM workshops and chess tournaments, according to Agkpo. New STEM programs will be added throughout the year.
This month, the Little Engineers program will be held on the following Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30: July 6, 13, 20 and 27. This program is for children ages three to five and costs either $50 per month (four classes) or $15 per class. The Little Engineers program focuses on allowing students to “play, tinker and invent as they use various construction, machine, robotics and other STEM-related kits.”
