Montclair State Style

Montclair State Style follows suit with 'Humans of New York,' talking about fashion and life with people around Montclair State University.

Montclair State Style highlights fashion around campus.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be Brandon Stanton, author of Humans of New York? The fashion blog Montclair State Style operates on both Instagram and Facebook and features students, faculty and visitors around the campus of Montclair State University. Their trendy style is photographed, captioned and posted within minutes. Thus, their story is shared with the world. Captions often include where their clothes are from as well as a brief yet entertaining Q&A.

Many of the questions involve their lives because each individual that is photographed is unique and the answers are very diverse. They make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and relate to other students – it’s never just a simple yes or no.

Of the hundreds of organizations on campus, what is your favorite and why?

The LGBTQ Center. People assume we only serve certain groups of students, but we have programs for the entire campus.

What personal MSU accomplishments are you most proud of?

Well, I haven’t done it yet, but I just got cast as Mark in Rent for Players.

Students often mention Urban Outfitters as their go-to shop in Montclair, located on 20 South Park Street. Who can blame them? The clothes are all about individual style and MSS loves to feature students with unique outfits or pieces. Urban Outfitters is open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
