The Montclarion II apartments, located at 125 Bloomfield Ave., will cater to the public’s growing desire to live in walkable, urban-like towns and cities by providing convenient housing nearby public transportation. The contemporary rental buildings will offer luxurious lodging and amenities just a short distance from the NJ Transit Bay Street Station, Lackawanna Plaza and Montclair Center.

The stylish Montclarion II building will be four stories high and feature 40 deluxe one and two bedroom residences. The top floor will house seven exclusive Penthouse apartments with expansive outdoor terrace space. The Montclarion II will also feature 1,200 square feet of ground floor space expected to house everyday conveniences and services. Renters will have access to an enclosed two-story garage.

Richard Polton conducted the project with Clifton-based Value Asset Management Inc. serving as the sole leasing and management agent. Polton foresees that the Montclarion will increase traffic in the already popular Montclair downtown area.

“This is a transit-oriented community in every sense, with a location feet from Montclair’s most active train station,” said Polton.

Montclarion at Bay Street was designed by Sionas Architecture. It will feature a brick and glass exterior that blends in with Montclair’s urban downtown vibe. Other features will include bike racks, a two-story lobby, rooftop patio, exercise room and a business lounge.

Homes will be spacious and sleek. The spaces will range from 800 square feet to 1,522 square feet and include finishes like hardwood flooring and high ceilings. The spaces will also include oversized windows with Juliette balconies, modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and washer/dryers in each home. The elegant apartments will provide immediate occupancy, with the monthly rents starting at $2,250 for one bedroom homes and two bedrooms starting at $2,670.00. Leasing is expected to begin in mid-May.

“We expect to appeal to both current Montclair residents looking to upgrade their lifestyle as well as those from surrounding areas who are attracted to the township’s pedestrian-friendly, convenient downtown,” said Polton.

The Montclarion II follows the original Montclarion rental building, built in 1989. Montclarion II will open in May 2017.
